This is a curd breaker, a tool used for cutting curd to hasten the escape of whey when making cheese. It was manufactured by Pond & Son of Blandford Forum, Dorset. A small brass label at the bottom end of the handle bears a picture of a farm, cow and dairy maid with the words: 'Pond & Son, // Dairy Utensil Manufacturers, // Blandford, // Dorset.'
