This tall narrow churn is made of tinned steel. It was used at Coley Park Farm, in Reading, by a milk retailer who retired in 1954. It was used to transport milk on the railways. It has a makers stamp, which is 'Allen // Castle St // Reading'. It is marked inside with numbers up to 8, probably measuring gallons.
