This is a paring chisel, a woodworking tool used for fine paring and trimming. This small chisel was used by the donor's father, who was a wheelwright and carpenter in Braishfield, Hampshire. It was described as a 'modern example, mass produced in Sheffield', when it was donated to the museum in 1954.
