Hand held washing dolly, or posser, with wooden handle and copper hemispherical plunger with perforations. It was used to agitate the cloth whilst hand washing. The metal cone used suction to drive the water through the dirty clothing with perforations to help the water circulate. The copper is stamped 'Simplex No. 6'. No further information is known about this object.
