This musket gun is a 'blunderbuss' type. It has a flintlock and is muzzle loading. It is made of wood and brass and has a ramrod and bayonet which is activated by a spring. There is a decorative pineapple emblem under the barrel. It is inscribed 'BRUNTON' near the flintlock, and 'YORK' on the barrel. It has Birmingham Proof House marks, and was made for and used by a guard on a mail coach, for protection.
