This musket gun has a flintlock and it is muzzle loaded. It is Government-issued, stamped 'WD'. It is a 'Brown Bess' musket, India pattern. It is made of wood and steel with brass trimmings (though the ram rod is missing). It was made in Birmingham for military use, and has Birmingham Proof House marks, being inscribed 'FULLPROOF' and 'WARRANTED' near the flintlock.
