[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
This musket is a gun of the blunderbuss type. It has a flintlock, is muzzle loading, and has a wooden ramrod. The barrel is inlaid at the stock end and at the muzzle end with silver wire. It is inscribed 'COOK', and also with the image of a crown. The gun was probably issued officially and later taken over: the butt plate is not original and was crudely fitted, there was probably an official stamp on the stock which has been cut away with a knife and the ramrod, made of bamboo, is not original.
