This is one of a set of five Women's Institute (WI) banners, this example relating to Sonning WI. The Sonning W.I. was formed in 1919, and this banner was made in 1934. Its design incorporates a shield containing three faced suns. The banner was designed by Mrs W. Tappley and made by K. Hill.

Beneath the shield there is a scroll contaning the name "SONNING". // The banner was designed and presented by Mrs W. Tappley who was President from 1932 to 1933. It was worked by K. Hill in 1934.
