This is one of a set of five Women's Institute (WI) banners, this example relating to Emmbrook WI. This banner was made in 1937, a year after the Emmbrook WI was founded. It depicts the bridge over the River Emm, with riverside trees and grass. The design was planned by a committee of four ladies, and the embroidery was done by Miss P. Lush and the banner completed by Mrs Bland.
