This is a small round box containing laxative pills. The box is made of cardboard, with a separate lid with the inscription 'The Ideal Laxative, Beecham's Pills, Gentle Effective Reliable' printed on a coloured background of blue, yellow and red stripes. It was used by Georgina Pullen (later Cook) of Andover, Hampshire and Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, during her work as a rural midwife in 1914-17.
