A sash fillister plane (a rebate plane fitted with a fence, for use in window-making) with a 2.8 cm blade. It is marked with the name of the maker, 'W. Sargent, West St, Reading', and the names of two previous owners, 'C. May' and 'T. Tennant'. The plane is part of a collection of woodworking tools which belonged to the donor’s father, a carpenter and joiner in Reading.
