This cutting off table was used in brickmaking. It has seven pegs in the top. A long bar of extruded clay would be cut into bricks using vertical wires. The Museum holds very little information about the origins or use of this cutting table.

MERL miscellaneous note - 'V. similar to 53/565 but with 7 pegs in the top... instead of 6. 20" [?] but otherwise much the same size, though a trifle smaller.'
