[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
This straw dolly, in the shape of a heart, was made by Fred Mizen at Great Bardfield for the Festival of Britain. It is made almost entirely of straw; the ring at the top is reinforced with wire. The centre piece, which is decorated with three blue bows, is made of the same spiral plait as the main part, but on a smaller scale. The basis for the work is long bunches of straw, covered by the spiral plait.
