This is a water filter, which was found in the stables at Winnersh Grove, Berkshire. The filter is a cream stoneware cylinderical jar with fluted sides and handles. It has a lid with a knob and hole. Inside there is a round plate with holes for filtering fixings to screw fitting. There's a hole at the base with a bung, The body is decorated with 'Patent, Desideratum Filter, Bailey & Co. Fulham, London' with a coat of arms.
