This is the share from a breast plough which was in use on Oldfield Farm, Baulking, near Wantage, in c.1850. It was used for removing tussocks of grass, known locally as 'bull-pulls' from pasture. The share is made of iron and is stamped with the name of Isaac Russell.

Object research project, Further Afield, February 2024 - The maker Isaac Russell was from Nunney, Hampsford near Fairford, Gloucestershire. He was also responsible for making other items in the collection such as 57/167 (also a breast plough).
