This brace, a woodworking tool for boring holes, belonged to the donor's great-grandfater and was thought to be at least 100 years old at the time of acquisition in 1952. It consists of a wooden stock, the tip of which has been shod with a brass tube. Into this brass part is fixed the bit, a small spring button making it rigid.
