This night dress was made for the wedding of the donor's mother; Mary Attwood Dibben who married in 1877. The dress is made of white cotton made by Charles Henville of Poole. The dress is marked in ink' M. Henville No.1.1877'. The collar and chest area is embroidered with chain stitch and button hole edged cutwork, which was all hand sewn. The back is one piece which is gathered into the neck. The cuffs, which turn up, are embroidered. Donated along with various other muslin, cotton and lace garments 68/280-68/313.
