A malt plough, used in the process of malting (turning barley into malt for use in brewing). Steeped grain is allowed to partly germinate on the malting floor and the plough is used to keep the grain at a constant depth in order to maintain a steady temperature. This malt plough was acquired from T. & R. G. Grace, corn millers, maltsters and agricultural merchants of Tring, Hertfordshire.
