This cup-type sheep bell with leather strap belonged to William Baker (c.1849–1916), a Berkshire shepherd who worked for several yeoman families in Hampshire and Berkshire.

Printed 1944’, MERL ‘Associated information’ form (60/126) – ‘...shepherd, William Baker. He was born at Honey Hill, off the Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham Without, Berkshire and died in 1916 aged 67. He worked for the following yeoman families:– Richard Kelsey of Eversley, Hants. The Groves of Ambarrow Farm, Berkshire.
