Descrizione
A drenching horn is a hollowed out animal horn used as a container or funnel for holding or administering veterinary medicines. Two people were needed, one to steady the animal’s head, and the other to hold the medicine. The head was raised and the lip of the horn forced into the side of the mouth, but not so far as to produce a cough. The small end of the horn was lifted up and the contents poured down. The museum holds little information about the origins of this horn.
