Descrizione
These clippers were used for clipping horses by hand, as an alternative to a power clipper which needs two people to operate it. These clippers needed two hands to use them, unlike hand sheep shears. This pair clips fairly finely; each tooth in the top plate passes over three teeth in the bottom plate. The right handle moves the top plate backwards and forwards across the bottom plate and thus cuts the hair. The handles are made of wood painted black, and the rest of the implement is steel. The words 'Orpwood Oxford' are stamped on the steel part of the handles.
