Descrizione
This carcass hanger originally came from Broad Green, Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire. It is a pig hanger, sometimes also called a 'gimble' or 'gamble', used as a yoke to hang a pig on after it has been killed, usually from a beam in a barn or outhouse. On each side of the yoke there are a series of five ridges any of which may be used according to the size of the pig (one one side the outer ridge is missing). The pig was hung by the hind legs, one at either end of the hanger.
