This is a syringe. It is almost entirely made of glass, apart from a cork bung in the top and string wadding inside. It is kept inside a blue cardboard tube. It was used by Georgina Pullen (later Cook) of Andover, Hampshire and Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, during her work as a rural midwife in 1914-17.
