This is a wooden seedlip with wooden handle and iron support bar. It has no shoulder strap. The sides are made of a steamed and bent single piece of wood.

It shows the method of construction clearly: the sides were formed from a single thin strip of wood that has been steamed and bent into the required shape. The iron strap across the top is there to give the body some rigidity, especially when it was full of seed.<P>97/65</SPAN></SPAN></P></DIV>
