This is a chopper for mincing or chopping various kinds of food. It is inscribed, 'BRADES C // CAST STEEL'. It was made by William Hunt & Sons of Brades Steel Works, near Birmingham, West Midlands. In the Brades catalogue choppers such as this are listed as mincing knives, although there is not one like this in the 1915 or 1944 catalogue in the trade records held at MERL.
