Description
This is a cheese mould used for making round edam cheeses. This example is made of oak. There are 16 staves held together by a metal band at the top and bottom. The base is concave and made of one piece of wood which is extended to form the pedestral base. There are four drainage holes. The wooden follower is also concave. This item was donated as part of a collection of dairy related objects from the University of Reading Department of Food Science.
