Description
This claper was used originally by Harry John Rixon (father of depositor) when he was a boy employed on the farm of Frederick Leader of Brockenhurst. It was used to scare crows from the crops. Frederick Leader and H. J. Rixon subsequently moved to Stanford Dingley, Berkshire in about 1914. Mr. Rixon then passed the bird scarer on to his son, who later donated it to the Museum.
