Description
This painting, by Alfred Grey RHA in 1894, depicts "Brannet" or "Brindled" cattle, a breed considered to be inferior and destroyed by the Board of Agriculture for Ireland in 1938. The donor notes they were considered to be a "Norse type of rough bony beast and late maturing". This painting was framed by Bregazzi + Sons, of Merrion Row, Dublin.
