This is an 'Aladdin Lamp', an incandescent table lamp made by the Mantle Lamp Company of America. It was made in 1927, although it is not known whether it was manufactured in the USA or the UK. It is chromium plated.

See 57/299-57/414. // The 'chimney' lamp resulted from placing the broken neck of a bottle over the flame of an open lamp. So, as in the case of many notable inventions, it was done almost by accident. // The glass chimney is one of teh main distinguishing features of the modern type of oil lamp.', Letter, A. J.
