Description
This is a hand-operated mincing machine, operated by turning a handle, for use with meat. It was used in the kitchen of the donor's family in Grantham, Lincolnshire, during the 1940s.

MERL 'Handwritten accession' form (Museum of English Rural Life) – 'Description: Metal mincing machine for use with meat. Turned wooden handle on rotating lever. Mechanism unscrews to reveal detachable blades, perforated plate, and cover screw plate all housed in main body perforated plate size ‘6’. Main body probably formerly painted or enamelled. Lever attached by wing nut. // Dimensions: Max height 165mm // Max width 280mm (inc handle) // Max depth (inc handle) 250mm // Associated information: Mincer was used during Second World War period for mincing meat in kitchen of donor’s family, which was in a house in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
