Description
Sugar cutters were used to break up loaf sugar into pieces suitable for table use. They were used before the introduction of cube sugar in the late 19th century. These cutters are made of wrought iron, and are engraved with a pattern on the pivot. The spike attached to the outside of one of the handles is to prevent the knuckles from hitting the table.
