Description
This steelyard came from the county of Buckinghamshire. It has a hook at the top for suspension, two hooks at the bottom to hold the object, and a third hook at the bottom for suspension when the bottom scale on the bar was to be used. There is a weight or bob on a loop which slides along the bar to the appropriate weight for balancing. It was made by the firm A. W. & T. Avery and is stamped with their name, the word 'Imperial' and the number '44'.
