This sample of horn was supplied to the museum by in the Rural Industries Bureau following an enquiry made by the Keeper about the possibility of getting supplies of lantern horn for restoration of museum lighting material. There appears to be no difficulty in preparing horn of this quality but it is inferior in transparency to the type of horn produced by the industry in earlier times.
