Description
These 48 wooden bobbins have both a short and long neck. The thread is first wound round the long neck, and then three or more times round the short neck. The smaller and lighter type were probably used for making the finer kinds of Bucks Point, the thread of which would be broken by heavier or spangled (weighted) bobbins. These bobbins belonged to a lacemaker in Ickford, Buckinghamshire.
