Description
This spoon, which is teaspoon-sized, is made of horn which shades from light yellow to dark brown. It is oval in shape and fairly deep, and the handle is scalloped along the edges with a hole at the end which was presumably so that it could be hung up. It came from Beverley in East Yorkshire

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This spoon came from Beverley (Yorks). // It is teaspoon size, measuring 6.35 inches in length, and made from one piece of horn. The horn is light yellow in colour, shading to dark brown at the end of the handle. The spoon is oval in shape, and fairly deep. The handle is scalloped along the edges and has a hole in the end which comes out ¼ inch along the bottom. This was presumably so that it could be hung up. // See also 52/170.'
