Descripción
This is a three-bladed fleam, a tool used for letting blood. This fleam was used by a butcher to slaughter animals by bleeding them to death. The fleam would be driven into the jugular vein with a mallet to sever the vein. It was last used circa 1809 by a butcher called Letherbarrows in Banbury, Oxfordshire, and was given to the donor by his great grandson.
