Descripción
This is a bench knife, used to make tent pegs. The hook is deigned to loop though a eyelet attached to a bench or stool, and the other end, probably with a T-shaped handle, was used as a lever to pare away unwanted wood. This knife was used in the local area around Moelygarth, near Guillsfield, Powys. The donor found it in his barn in 1954. At the time of acquisition, in 1957, there were still a number of tent peg makers working in that area of Wales.
