Descripción
A riding crop with a skin-covered wooden handle (said to the the skin from a bull's penis). It has a piece of leather at one end to make a flexible strap for striking the horse, and a looped leather thong at the other to go over the hande of the user. The crop came from the Yattendon Estate in Berkshire.

MERL 'Handwritten accession' form (Museum of English Rural Life) – 'Recorder: JMB // Date: 31.7.96 // Description: This crop has a wooden handle which is covered in skin very tightly (the skin is said to be from a bull’s penis). A piece of folded leather stitched down one side is attached to the handle to make a flexible strap for striking the horse. There is a leather thong attached to the top of the handle which forms a loop to go over the hand of the user. // Dimensions: Total length: 80.0 cm Length of handle: 35.0 cm // Associated information: This crop was given to Tim Culley by Don Wyatt, former works foreman at Yattendon who is currently 99 years old.’
