This is a model harrow, which is a scale version of a cultivating implement used for covering over seeds once sown. This model was donated by Agricultural Machinery Department at the University of Reading.

It is painted black. // Dimensions // Drawbar length: 48cm, Each part of the harrow 21x18cm.’, MERL ‘History Artefacts’ form - ‘Description: this model consists of three component parts, each identical. Each has a zig zag frame with five horizontal bars. Between each bar are four diagonal supports. At each angle of the frame is a time, projecting vertically beneath, and place in such a manner that the lines formed by them are equidistant. Each section has two hooks at either end for traction. (3 of the harrow sections are missing as the whipple tree may accommodate six)
