This bell comes from Heron's Farm in Wheathamsptead, Hertfordshire. It is one of two bells found at the Farm - one was ploughed up in a field and the other was found in 1929 when clearing a barn - but it is unclear which of the two this is. This bell is made of metal and has two loops, or staples, at the top to which a pair of leather straps is fitted and these are joined by a leather yoke held in place by a pair of lockyers (toggles). The bell was identified by the donor as a cow bell and by the Museum as a sheep bell.
