Descripción
These beam scales were used by the donor's grandfather for weighing corn. They were used in Hampshire, at Phillips Heath Farm in Stockbridge, Manor Farm in Kilmiston, Alresford, Granger Farm in Romsey, and Hopgoods Farm in Stoke. The scales are thought to have been made in Birmingham by J. Beach, c. 1850. On one side of the beam is a weight platform, and the other is a bag platform.
