A washing dolly is a laundry implement used for plunging clothes in a tub of hot water. This dolly consists of four legs, carved from a single block of wood, and a long T-shaped handle. Nothing is known about where Lavinia Smith acquired it.

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This dolly is made of wood and stands 38 inches high. The top bar for the hands measures 13 inches across and the long handle is eight sided.
