Descripción
This ladle was used in the farmhouse at Sackers Green, Suffolk. It is probably made of boxwood, and is carved from one whole piece of wood. The bowl is flat on the bottom, and the handle has a projecting leg underneath it at the end so that the ladle will stand on the table by itself and also so that the ladle would not slip into the bowl when ladling from it. It may have been used for ladling out toddy, punch, or some other beverage.
