Descripción
This is a wire mesh basket which used to hang in a larder to hold eggs, of which it holds almost two dozen. The wire mesh is fixed onto a thick wire ring at the bottom and the top is stretched over a larger ring round the centre. The handle is made of two stout pieces of wire hooked round the top wire ring. The two wires are an inch or so apart at this point, but are then brought together and bound on either side and on the top with fine wire.
