Descripción
Two drenching horns, used for administering medicine to cattle and horses in liquid form. Two people were needed, one to steady the animal’s head, and the other to hold the medicine. The head was raised and the lip of the horn forced into the side of the mouth, but not so far as to produce a cough. The small end of the horn was lifted up and the contents poured down. The horns are part of the Saint Mary Bourne Collection, from the village of Saint Mary Bourne in Hampshire.
