Descripción
This is an oven rake found, which was found in a cottage in Herefordshire before demolishment. This oven rake was used to remove ashes from a bread oven. Common in this area was a "leasing" hole, into which the ashes were dropped for softening water. The rake was most likely made by the local blacksmith.
