Descripción
This basketwork lobster and crab store was made by A. Hutchings and Sons of Beesands, Devon. It is made from locally grown red and green willow, directly after winter cutting, and cane. It is made of stakes which have been fitched and waled into a hemi-spherical shape and has a shallow funnel. It is the same design as a lobster pot, but larger and with no bait sticks. These baskets are used for keeping lobsters and crabs alive in the sea after they have been caught, and are common in the West Country and Wales.
