Description
The hake is the part of the plough which enables the depth of the plough in the ground to be adjusted. This hake was said by the donor to have come from a 'High Gallows type' Berkshire plough. It was almost certainly used at Lunns Farm or at Woodley Farm, both in Woodley, Berkshire.

MERL ‘Associated information’ form [59/334] – ‘All these items [59/334–337] were taken from the barn of a now abandoned farmsteading. Were almost certainly used at Lunns Farm or at Woodley Farm which was once owned by the Pither family. The wagon (photo in slide collection) has on the front board “George Pither, Woodley Farm.’
