Archival history
The crimping machine was acquired at the same time as a goffering iron, of which there appears to be no record. A MERL miscellaneous note on the accession record for 59/305 states 'extra parts of goffering iron already accessioned'. This may refer to 59/246, which is missing its accesion record.
