Description
This is a small round bell from Priory Farm, Monk Sherborne, Hampshire. It has the initials 'E.P.' on the underside, which may refer to Edward Pocock, who farmed at Priory Farm in the 17th century, or may refer to Edward/Edwin Plummer, possibly of Ramsbury, according to the Antique Metalware Society. Hence initials E.P. // [pencil sketch]', MERL miscellaneous note - Although recorded as a cow bell in the documentation and possibly used as such, it seems likely that this object was produced as a horse bell.
